Pizza Party!

Friday of last week was the last day of our week long Staff Appreciation Week celebration!  After having breakfast served to us on Monday, an ice cream social on Thursday, it was time for a pizza party on Friday.  I think that the stuff had been looking forward to Friday since we all assumed it would be a much more relaxed day in the office.  Half, or at least what seemed like half, of the people who work in my office were gone on Friday due to an out of the office event designed for all of the boss’.  You know what they say, when the cats away, the mice will play.  Ok, we didn’t really play, but it was nice to just kind of relax.  Everyone was looking forward to pizza.

As soon as the clock struck noon it was a madhouse to get down to the kitchen and grab some pizza!  The large catering table in the kitchen was loaded down with boxes and boxes of pizza from Johnnie’s NY Pizzeria, which is a nearby neighborhood pizza joint near the office.  You can tell by the name that they serve thin New York style pizza.  There were boxes and boxes of pizza and tons of people clamoring to get their hands on a few boxes!  Who knew that serving pizza could get so many people to leave their offices and desks for food!

They ordered a bunch of different varieties to hopefully match everyone’s tastes.  The most unique pizza I saw was pepperoni, mushrooms and jalapenos.  Interesting combination to me, but hey, what do I know?  Whatever floats your boat, I guess.

There was your typical combo pizza known as Johnnie’s combo.  This pizza had pepperoni, sausage, olives, bell peppers, mushrooms, onions and garlic.

Of course, there was pepperoni, the king of all pizzas.

And you couldn’t have a pizza party without getting a plain cheese pizza.

There was also a Hawaiian pizza with Canadian bacon and pineapple, which everyone seemed to like.

Of course, there was also a bbq chicken pizza which I know because I might have grabbed the last piece? Maybe!  Sorry if I did!  But hey, it looked good.  There was also a NY white pie without the tomato sauce and I heard someone else talking about a pizza with feta cheese on it – no doubt a greek-style pizza.

Nothing makes employees happier than free food.  Put that in combination with it being a Friday, and the free food being pizza, you’ve hit a homerun!

I think you work for a company that does really appreciate their employees.
